Camping Games and Activities 1. Don't forget the frisbee. 2. When it is hot, drag out a pail of water and kitchen sponges for a sponge fight. 3. Create a holiday box. Decorate with special finds like leaves, sticks, rocks and so on. Be sure to leave a place on the top of your box for a holiday photo. 4. Bring a dark colored plastic placemat for each child. Cover the mats with either Dad's shaving foam or sand and create an easy to clean up finger painting. 5. Kids of all ages love to play in the dirt so bring a set of small gardening tools with the fork and shovel - they are much stronger than the plastic toy ones. 6. Bring a rainy day box and include feathers, beads, pipe cleaners, play dough, wood bits, glue crayons and construction paper - the dollar store has lots of materials. Now your are set to make masks and head dresses. 7. Kids love creepy crawly bugs and creatures. Buy a good book on bug identification and a magnifying glass. 8. It doesn't seem to matter what age - bubbles rule. Do bring some wands and bubble liquid. 9. Playing cards - Cards teach math skills and can fill many hours. 10. Sunflower seeds make the best outdoor snack. 11. Camping affords the perfect time to teach nature skills. Come armed with books and materials. - Teach knots - Bring a book and some rope pieces. - Bird watching - Wild flower identification - how to build a campfire and no trace camp. -Bear and cougar etiquette. - what to do if you get lost 12. Prepare a fanny pack for each child. Inside should be a cup, whistle, candies and crackers with peanut butter, a space blanket, a couple of snap lights, a large garbage bag for a cover or rain coat, toilet paper and a signal mirror. Also include a card with your child's name, telephone number and health card number. Teach your children how to use the signal mirror.
